Victor Oladipo Shines In First Summer League Game

First round pick, Victor Oladipo, has already shown his versatility in the NBA Summer League. His Orlando Magic faced the Boston Celtics, who had grabbed Kelly Olynyk in the 13th pick from a trade with the Dallas Mavericks.

Kelly Olynyk played great having 25 points, 7 rebounds, and shooting 82% from the field! However, he could not lead his team to the win, as Victor Oladipo shined on offense and defense. Oladipo had 18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 5 steals.

He made all the Celtics guards struggle to even bring the ball up the court. He had 3 steals in the first five minutes of the game. His steals got the Magic out on fast break's, and let DeQuan Jones jump up and have an amazing alley-oop in late first quarter.

Oladipo not only took it to the hole in this game. He also showed some range from the 3 point arc. He shot 2 from 3 in the game, and helped spread the floor for Orlando. His close to game clinching jumper came from just inside the 3 point line, as he banked in the game sealer.

Finally, he also helped set up teammates. Oladipo had 6 assists, and had the game clinching assist to Mo Harkless as Harkless threw it down over the Celtics.

In the end, Oladipo and Kelly Olynyk starred, but it was the Magic who took game one in the NBA Summer League.
