He must be talking abut his college years, or else he forgot the names of Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Rajon Rondo, Steph Curry, Russell Westbrook, Kyrie Irving, and pretty much 10 other NBA point guards.
However, yesterday on the Dan Patrick Show, John Wall was asked, "Where do you rank among NBA point guards?" Wall responded, "I rank myself as the best."
It's good to have self confidence, but sometimes, a little thing called reality shows up. In this case, self-confidence was present. Somehow, he was blinded by the facts and the truth. He is only 7th in assists per game (among point guards), 6th in PPG (Among point guards), but was the third worst between point guards for turnovers per game.
To be honest, those are actually some good credentials. Let's also remember that he is only going into his 4th year. He is averaging more APG, and TPG than Russell Westbrook in his 4th year. He would also be averaging just as many PPG as Westbrook in his 4th year, but Russell averages 4 more FGA than Wall. Still, right now, John Wall's stats are no where near "best point guard in the league" stats.
