NASCAR great, Tony Stewart, broke his leg last night. He was leading the 30-lap when he was involved in a multi-car crash. Stewart broke his tibia and his fibula in his right leg. Stewarts team claims he has already gone through surgery.
It seems like lady luck had given up on Tony last night, because this would've been his 3rd crash with no injuries in the last couple weeks. Instead, his car flipped, and is now out with an awful injury.
Stewart's team is currently 11th for the Sprint Cup, and is still aiming for a wild card spot. His team is hoping he doesn't miss much time as Ryan Newman and Martin Truex Jr are close behind them in points.
Stewart's team is still deciding on a replacement for the next race. Amazingly, this will be the first Cup Race without Stewart since 1998!
Good luck to Stewart and his team! Maybe some change will do some good.
