What a game. Few things are better than a close SEC vs ACC game, especially right now. The SEC is at its absolute peak and Clemson is on the rise. Two of some the best teams in the nation went into it last night: Clemson vs Georgia
While watching this game, I noticed a couple key points. Number one, Tajh Boyd made a statement. Boyd threw 270 yards and 3 TD's and looked like a true Heisman Candidate. He led the Clemson down the field with the spectacular running and Sammy Watkins.
On the other side, Aaron Murray for Georgia wasn't a huge effective QB yesterday. He threw for 323 yards, but didn't have one passing TD. He and did not look like a Heisman Candidate to me. He looked no where near himself, or a senior. He was supposed to lead, but couldn't do much tonight.
Another Heisman Candidate, Todd Gurley, was great today. He tried to pick up Murray's slack, with 154 yards and 2 TD's running, but could not do it in the end. He is still looking like a Heisman Candidate however.
Clemson's offense was great this game, not only from the quarterback, but from Sammy Watkins and Roderick McDowell. Watkins is their star wide receiver who combined with Boyd for 127 yards and 1 touchdown. Him and Boyd connected for a 77 yard TD early in the game.
Clemson's running back looked pretty good this game as he ran for 132 yards. McDowell's not a huge name, but he will be effective this season for Clemson.
From a defensive stand point, there was no big spectacular play from either team. It was just their great offenses going head to head. In recap, these were the big points to come out with:
1. Tajh Boyd is an athletic QB, who will be in the Heisman Race this year
2. Andy Murray is now 1-10 Against top 15 teams
3. Todd Gurley will have a great year (like expected)
4. Sammy Watkins will play great with Boyd
5. Clemson will be in the mix for the Championship this year
